I'm hoping Belgium is a double Dardenne release of Le fils and L'enfant.

It’s probably Daughters of Darkness, as per last month’s newsletter.

Isn't that in the 2nd bfi Akerman set? Janus/Criterion have it in the US.

I think given that the titles announced will be for October that based on the letter clues it will probably be Malpertuis, Daiei Gothic Volume 2, and Daughters of Darkness.

I'm hoping it's Vanishing Point, at long last.

Ma Vie En Rose would top my Belgian list. Les amitiés particulières or 8 femmes would top my French list. And either Gohatto or a dual edition of both Inoue's & Fukasaku's versions of Black Lizard would top my Japanese list.

Already released in the Commedia all'italiana boxset IL SORPASSO features a famous cinematic white car, in fact a blonde roadster, an 1958 Lancia Aurelia B24 convertible,...

Unless you're talking about the 1997 TV remake starring Viggo Mortensen, Fabulous Films released Vanishing Point (1971) on Blu-ray in the UK in 2019 (licensed from Hollywood Classics International), and it's still available.

I'm hoping for a UHD release, but I was unaware of the Fabulous Films release so it's probably not Vanishing Point anyway.

Obviously Donald Cammell’s Demon Seed, which prominently features a white 1975 Bricklin Safety Vehicle One.

I think given most, if not all, the Newsletter clues have related to the title of a film being released so I’m guessing it’s either Blonde in a White Car or that Fran’s messing with us and it’s Black Cat, White Cat, which happens to feature a white (?) car in one of its set pieces.

Any chance we'll be seeing more Dino Risi? Seems like Criterion lost interest in him after Il Sorpasso. I seem to recall a bunch of his films being restored & included in a retrospective when Criterion released their blu-ray and I anticipated seeing more. Una Vita Difficile is one I'd love to see. It got a 4k restoration but Rialto has had it in the US for a few years & there's still no disc. I'd also like to see il nome del popolo italiano on an English friendly disc. Looks like the COMMEDIA ALLITALIANA box has taken longer to sell out than most other Radiance sets, so I'm guessing that doesn't bode well for another, more comprehensive English-friendly box for more of his work (the French boxes seemed to sell out more quickly).

They posted a video on social media today showing several different releases from the brand and then concluding with a shot from the 'Max Headroom' broadcast hijack, the name 'TX', and tomorrow's date. Fran tweeted to look out for this tomorrow. Any ideas? First thing that comes to mind for me is maybe they're doing a streaming service?

Radiance just released a blurb with several film scenes that dissolve to Max Headroom and tomorrow's date on their Youtube channel. Is Radiance releasing the complete series/tv movie on blu for both US & UK?

No, it’s a reference to the famous Max Headroom signal intrusion that occurred over a repeat of Doctor Who on US public television. No idea what it means but I would be extremely surprised if it correlated to anything that actually incorporates Max Headroom - my guess is they’re launching an imprint that has a bit less of a classy focus then the films in the first half of that teaser, effectively something that feels like someone has broken in and taken over.
