I have to agree with everyone that it’s weird for him to have a Token slot (why?) but I will say that I would definitely love for Criterion to release Looking for Langston which is a delightfully dreamlike haze of a film.

When the 15th falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the norm is to wait til Monday. Occasionally, however, we get lucky...

Interjecting with the following thought (apologies if this doesn’t fit the purity of the predictions posts here):

All of the “what if” potential 4K upgrades are preventing me from pulling the trigger on some long-neglected titles during the current B&N sale. Someone posted Kagemusha, and I literally almost added it to my cart last night, but thought to myself “you should just wait.” :exasperated:

In keeping with the purpose of this thread, my only guess is:

Early Fassbinder Eclipse upgrade

Frau Blucher:

I've had a haircut since that video clip you posted.

I'm not going to make predictions this month, but a couple observations. When the Eclipse revival was announced, it specifically mentioned the Kiarostami films and Lubitsch musicals. If they were ready to go back then, why is everyone not guessing the Lubitsch upgrade as the next Eclipse box? It's likelier than anything else to be the on-deck release. And if it is, I think we might get a Trouble in Paradise upgrade to go with it. (I guess that's a semi-prediction.)

Four Nights of a Dreamer is still on tour--it won't play in Berkeley till later this month. It's at least two or three months too soon to come up for a physical release, from what I've observed over the years. The Fall of Otrar had a relatively quick turnaround from its Film Forum presentation, so it's not impossible, but most movies take a lot longer, it seems to me.

Again, Frau Blucher, thanks for the flattering portrait!

Or Criterion could just "sit on" Four Nights of a Dreamer as they're wont to do with a lot of their properties. We still haven't gotten a physical release of Antonioni's Il Grido for instance.

I have a funny suspicion they'll also "sit on" the 4K restoration of Viridiana. Ordet also received a 4K restoration ages ago.

can't argue with Bressonaire, we'll get a Lubitsch month for sure. but yes, they mentioned Saura, Tanaka, and Kazuo Hara as well in the announcement, so any of those can be expected
