Re: Vinegar Syndrome and Their Partner Labels
I suggested The Funeral to Bruno at Radiance; he takes care of their title recommendations.
Unless VS specifically said that they won't be doing standards of New Rose Hotel, I'd think a regular release should follow pretty soon. I remember them saying they weren't sure if they were going to do a regular release of the Iron Angels films when the LE was selling so fast, yet they announced the standard shortly after the LE went OOP.
Edit: I forgot we were talking about Cinematographe, but even so, I'm pretty sure if they didn't release standards simultaneously for that sublabel, they usually followed after the LE selling out.

Re: Vinegar Syndrome and Their Partner Labels
I think I managed to snap up the last copy of New Rose Hotel. Thank you for the heads-up, John Cope! I was going to wait for a standard edition, but the discussion above gave me second thoughts. Added Shall We Dance LE to my order, which is down to 208 copies, so if you like the slipcover art, go for it.John Cope wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 10:42 pm Just a heads up that New Rose Hotel is already below 300 (out of an initial 3000). Given how fast this is selling I persist in my hope that they'll release Ferrara's Mary next.

Re: Vinegar Syndrome and Their Partner Labels
Edward II is one of the titles to be announced tomorrow, probably a Film Movement (Classics) re-release of their old disc. Also Only The River Flows, from Kimstim. Anyone recognize anything else?

Has to be Judd Nelson, tracks with the blue suit and the mic in front. Glad somebody's finally putting it out!
Can't figure out the Sam Neill movie, does he have daughters in Omen III?

I’m pretty sure Judd Nelson’s character in Dark Backwards can’t lift his hands that high (there’s a gag about it - “Let’s see ya go big!” *barely lifts hands to waist level*)

The man looking over his shoulder on the top left is A Man Of Integrity, from Big World Pictures.
edit: and as the person above pointed out that is Lady Chatterley's Lover from Icarus Films left of the center

Re: Vinegar Syndrome and Their Partner Labels
Edward II and Only the River Flows have been out for months. Not sure about Edward II (which I didn't consider since I have it in the BFI Jarman set), but Only the River Flows was already marked down 50% in the Black Friday sale, which spurred me to pick it up. I think it's been overrated in some quarters, but it's still by a fair margin the best I've seen from the recent crop of Chinese crime dramas. What A Disgrace wrote: Wed Dec 03, 2025 6:20 pm Edward II is one of the titles to be announced tomorrow, probably a Film Movement (Classics) re-release of their old disc. So far everything that's been guessed or identified here is something that's already out except Omen III and The Dark Backward, and we can rule out Omen III since the Sam Neill photo is definitely from Irresistible, a recent Umbrella release.

Re: Vinegar Syndrome and Their Partner Labels
Joe Dante's The Movie Orgy was one of today's announcements (from AGFA). Finally something worth picking up from the VS partner labels!
Against my better judgment I'm also tempted to blind-buy the queer Twin Peaks parody Twin Cheeks from VHShitfest.

That is a stunning announcement. I’m sure that certain segments might have to be excised, though. I love that it was always intended to be a “living document” of a film, anywayianthemovie wrote: Thu Dec 04, 2025 6:33 pm Joe Dante's The Movie Orgy was one of today's announcements (from AGFA). Re: Vinegar Syndrome and Their Partner Labels
It mentions "digital inserts" for missing footage, but if this is the version AGFA has been playing, those inserts I thought were from one of the various reedits. I'm pretty sure those moments are from the edit done in the early 2010s and features an audio cue that has the crunchy, mono soundtrack suddenly sound digital and crisp. It's a bit jarring, but the clips are great.ianthemovie wrote: Thu Dec 04, 2025 6:33 pm Joe Dante's The Movie Orgy was one of today's announcements (from AGFA). Wow. I thought Dante wanted it to remain a communal experience with only a few theatrical copies travelling around, but I guess he let go of the Citizen Kane sled too.

Speaking of Jon Davison, I hope his wife Sally Cruikshank’s animated films get a Vinegar Syndrome/partner label release. Quasi at the Quackadero is an all-time masterpiece

Does anyone own any of KimStim's releases? Do they habitually provide optional subtitles or are they either burned-in or forced? They have some releases I'm interested in, but I don't like supporting burned-in or forced subtitles.

I'd love to see them release Strangers in Good Company as well as the 1987 television
production of A Child's Christmas in Wales (which is actually a Canadian production and
wonderfully photographed), although the latter might not be quite their thing.

Why won’t Canadian touch Michael Snow? Must we wait a lifetime for more Snow on Blu from Re-voir instead?
