Not sure if this is the final artwork as the Amazon posting is different. This is from the deep discount page.

I actually like this one but it is also objectively terrible

Sometimes a commitment to using vintage advertising art should be broken.

They really threw everything and the kitchen sink at that didn't they. My favorite is probably the T2-esque "3 GREAT MOVIES"

Poor Jack looks like he's been cobbled together out of multiple images and then put
in the toaster for five minutes.

Trust you to flag a cover design by Chris Ware as worst ever.

Re: Worst DVD Covers...ever! (Part 4K)
While we're on the subject of Ware, have you guys seen the recent postage stamps he designed? I think this cover is only a portion of what the eventual package is going to be, and I expect it will have a similarly expansive feel once it's unfolded.
As it is, I agree it's somewhat awkward, but truly--go back and look at some of the horrors in this thread to remind you what "worst" really means. Where's that Pathfinder Chabrol DVD box set when you need it?

New rule (Bill Maher music): the next person to put a just-announced Criterion cover in here instead of just discussing it in the appropriate thread gets a ban warning in addition to their post being deleted

"Roman Reeks" sounds very funny in English, where "reek" means to smell strongly unpleasant. It's also slang when something "stinks" figuratively...as does this cover art.Richard wrote: Wed Mar 04, 2026 9:42 pm The cover of one of many Dutch reissues of a terrible DVD release of Silkwood:

“Trump” means “fart” in British English, an observation that may have been made once or twice over the past decade or so.

I don’t know what all of you are on about. This is a wonderful cover for Silkwood, that beloved Danielle Steel adaptation.

In Dutch "Reeks" means "Series". But the English meaning is more appropriate indeed.Zot! wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 2:43 pm"Roman Reeks" sounds very funny in English, where "reek" means to smell strongly unpleasant. I guess the mirroring on front and back is kind of cute but boy does this feel slapped together, i also really dislike covers that don’t include the title on them
