Since they're doing The Dirty Dozen, it will be great if Arrow can do Where Eagles Dare and Kelly's Heroes next.

Glad we're finally getting some Coen Bros from a UK boutique. Mad to think the recent Criterion edition of The Man Who Wasn't There is the first boutique release of one of their films over here. I gave up requesting Barton Fink and The Hudsucker Proxy from the likes of Arrow years ago (both are with Universal here, so I figured they'd be possible) and Burn After Reading and A Serious Man could be a good fit for Arrow too. No Country for Old Men deserves a UK 4K release too, but it's Paramount so that might prove difficult - if Criterion can't license it for the UK, who else can?

Anyway, Fargo is great news and I'll definitely be getting it. Quite up for The Dirty Dozen and WarGames too, even if I already have the older catalogue discs. I'm sure Arrow will make them definitive editions, particularly the former which desperately needed remastering (I wonder if they could also get one or two of the TV sequels as well, like they did for The Great Escape).

(Funnily enough, I think I suggested WarGames to Transmission recently.)

NO COUNTRY does have a 4K coming from Australia via All Interactive so not all hope is lost for the Region B market, though you might just be better off importing the Criterion at this point.

Also, I guessed WARGAMES was with 88, alongside FARGO. I assumed at one point Arrow were not interested in FARGO considering word is it had been offered to Radiance and Fran turned it down because he thought it would betray the mission of the label, despite him admitting it would've been a good financial decision.

I would go for several Criterion US-only 4K releases if it wasn't for the fact the Blu-ray disc with all the extras on is locked to Region A, so I'm actually more likely to import a 4K disc from elsewhere to save money since I can't access the extras. Seems we're at this awkward point in time where boutique labels are putting films on 4K UHD but the extras are still region locked, shutting out droves of collectors from enjoying the extras they've spent time creating (Arrow can be guilty of the same with their US-only 4K releases).

88 Films are all over the place these days. I felt surprised and yet somehow not surprised when they announced Hard Eight, Last Tango in Paris and The Pink Panther for example, as these are titles I'd previously expected from the likes of Arrow or Eureka and they've somehow failed to deliver them.

I can't blame Fran for turning down Fargo too much, as it does feel far too mainstream for Radiance, but I'd have hoped he might consider licensing a different Coen Brothers film (Barton Fink or The Hudsucker Proxy were the most likely examples I gave above, seeing as their earlier films are tied up). Radiance seem resistant to setting up a Universal deal though, so perhaps that's what is preventing such a thing from occurring (or maybe it's actually at Universal's end, since we haven't seen a huge number of Arrow collaborations of late either).

Said this already on the other forum, but a Region Free player is well worth the investment, mate.
