Likely Petri's The Teacher from Vigevano, which would fit the MV clue in its original title Il maestro di Vigevano and dash my hopes for some Michael Verhoeven.

Given Radiance’s willingness to completely rerelease preexisting OOP boutique label releases, I wonder if they’re planning to tackle the films in the Arrow Rivette set, which is similarly to Imamura going for absurd prices on the secondhand market

All our rereleases have included superior masters or bumped to 4K UHD. Those Rivette titles still have the existing masters so it would be slightly more challenging to do so.

Given Radiance’s willingness to completely rerelease preexisting OOP boutique label releases, I wonder if they’re planning to tackle the films in the Arrow Rivette set, which is similarly to Imamura going for absurd prices on the secondhand market

Fran, since you're around, can you guys ask Studio Canal for the Bertrand Tavernier titles they didn't port over to the UK already, like A Sunday in the Country, Captain Conan and The Judge and the Assassin? Even if it takes till 2028 as your slate for next year is full.

Todo Modo is a title Radiance have been trying to get for some time, or at least, were trying to get.

I see that it is coming out on a dual UHD/BD in Italy this autumn. Could this be a sign that the rights issues are sorted? Or should one not conflate the rights of a domestic release with international ones?

I’d imagine the latter, but hopefully in this case it’s resolved for at least the UK too. More Elio Petri can only be a good thing.

Start up Kinoglazorama acquired worldwide rights to Todo Modo after the restoration was done in 2014. I suspect that it was a 10 year licence and rights have since reverted to Surf Film (who Radiance have already licensed from before - Allonsanfan, Dino Risi, Slap the Monster on Page One, The Railroad Man)

Someone pointed out on the other forum that The Teacher from Vigevano was last month's newsletter clue, so could have been hinting at a Petri box set? Or at least a couple of Petri releases, as they've done before.

Also interesting were Fran's comments about more Paramount licenses, where he implies they licensed three titles; one of which was Une femme douce; the second of which is yet to be announced; the third of which needed restoring for a 4K release but the director was too busy with a 'massive new film' to oversee it.

Some of us speculated the film could have been The Duellists, since it'd be a director still working today and that film does need restoring, in which case I do hope they get around to it later on as it's a great film. Coincidentally another of his films from Paramount, Black Rain, is in need of restoration but that would feel more at home with the likes of Arrow.

88 Films has Hard Eight in the UK, so I think we can rule that out.

Hello Fran, hope you're doing well. Just wondering: Are there any plans to upgrade A MOMENT OF ROMANCE to UHD in the future or am I good to potentially spend $50 on the Disk Kino UHD without having any buyers remorse down the line? Thank you very much in advance.
