Incredible movie! Will be interesting to see the aspect ratio they go with considering Brooks claimed it was shot to be academy but the studio ignored him (I personally don’t think it looks like it was misframed or framed that way). Pretty sure even the ancient MGM DVD was 1.66 non-anamorphic, and that was back when they were putting out plenty of open matte titles
Kino’s press release confirms Elmer Gantry will be presented in 1.33 for the first time on both UHD and Blu
**This will be released in its Original Aspect Ratio, as the Studio has confirmed Director Richard Brooks intended it to be 1.33:1.
