Fully agree, I've had zero problems with a single Arrow disc, even with my last funky player that had problems with every other 4K. My new player has only had problems with (brand-new) Criterion 4Ks. What makes the situation even more frustrating is that their customer service is still silent a week after sending emails asking for a corrected disc (Maybe they're overwhelmed because so many people are reporting problems with their discs!)omegadirective wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2026 2:41 pm Why does criterion have so many disc problems?
I buy a LOT of movies, but Criterion is by far the worst for problems with their discs.

Re: The Complete Kubrick
What's odd is I had no problems with any discs (though haven't watched Eyes Wide Shut yet), not even taking screen captures, and I was expecting at least one to give me difficulty (I had 2 give me issues in the Anderson set). So it just shows how random it is with them, too.

For what it's worth: As a Panasonic UB820 owner, I had so many issues with Criterion (and Arrow) 4ks when they first started releasing them. I got to my fifth replacement before I decided to take a look at my setup and, just by chance, chose to replace my HDMI cables. Suddenly, everything started working without issue. This is all to say, sometimes a bad cable can cause bottlenecks and it's a fairly inexpensive fix/troubleshoot.

I switched out HMDI cables too, which helped at times in the past but hasn't lately. I also have two players now, so I'm able to test discs on both and the same place will skip on a Criterion disc every time
