Well, that pic certainly lends credence to David Poland's theory. Adrian Brody looks every bit the young Peter Bogdanovich. I hope he's right. That's a film I'd like to see.

An early draft of the script has leaked. This draft was written before Natalie Portman signed on.

Thanks for the info, at first when I read the topic I was very discouraged by the focus on ragging on Anderson. I mean, I'm all for being able to air your angries online, it just throws you off when you click for information on a specific film.
I'm really excited about this, I have a huge soft spot for movies set in India. Like French pop music, even if it's mediocre I'll find something to enjoy about it.

This ad was just named Best Commercial of 2006 by the Association of Independent Commercial Producers, but take that praise lightly because Geico's "cavemen" ads were named Best Campaign.Jeff wrote:If you haven't seen it yet, Anderson's new American Express commercial is pretty darn enjoyable. It's a not-so-subtle homage to Day For Night and it's very Andersonian. I've seen it play two or three times in the pre-trailer ads in theaters. There was an NPR story on the ad that showed up in print on Slate. Armond White also reviewed it for Slate. Naturally, White promptly went bat-shit insane and declared the ad superior to the Truffaut film.

According to IMDb, its distributor is Fox Searchlight. I know (think) that Fox has licensed to Criterion in the past, but has the Fox Searchlight banner?SncDthMnky wrote:The fact that this is pretty much pre-determined criterion makes me so excited for it. I hope it lives up to Anderson's work so far.

No, but isn't the Fox deal with Criterion done now?kaujot wrote:According to IMDb, its distributor is Fox Searchlight.
