We're not talking enough about how Paramount decided The Godfather Part 2 wasn't an essential Best Picture winner.
I'm under the impression it's going to receive some love from Coppola himself in the next few years. I think I can wait for that.
I thought I'd read (but can no longer find a source) that the trilogy would receive a UHD set in 2022 for the 50th anniversary of the first film.

I've heard things to that effect too, and also considering the fact Paramount+ is going to make a mini-series on the making of the first film I would imagine such a set would be good promotion for that as well.

It was in a statement from Paramount to The Digital Bits on 10/12/20:

And finally today, MANY of you have asked whether Paramount will be releasing Mario Puzo’s The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone on 4K Ultra HD. As you know, the studio has already officially announced the 12/8 Blu-ray and Digital release of the film. Well, we have some good news for you... Paramount has just provided The Digital Bits with this official statement on the matter:

“At this time, we will be releasing Mario Puzo’s The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone on Blu-ray and Digital. In anticipation of the 50th anniversary of The Godfather in 2022, Paramount is working on restoring all films in this franchise, preparing for new home entertainment releases including 4K UHD physical and digital releases. More details will be released at a later date.”

Happy to hear this. The first two have been available individually on blu, but I've been waiting for Bon Voyage and Race for Your Life to follow.

Does this mean the Criterions are soon to be out of print?

I doubt it. They'll probably be budget alternatives priced accordingly. IIRC, during DVDs heyday, those were priced by Paramount as budget titles even then.

La Dolce Vita, Rosemary’s Baby, Days of Heaven, and Don’t Look Now are all listed as OOP. La Dolce Vita is still included in the Fellini boxset though, which is still in stock.
Well, as long as a decent BD is being released by Paramount, it's not a complete loss. Like, they could do a better encode of Don't Look Now among others.

With the hope that Paramount would release more of their catalog on HD and UHD, I guess this was a “be careful what you wish for” moment. Damn.

When this came out, I was going through a bit of a rough time, I went to see it with a friend and it was the first real laugh I had had in a while.

I'm sure I would cringe watching it again now, but I have a soft spot for it. "Emilio!"

So yeah, I guess what I am saying is I am the fanbase.

"Emilio!" is the one and only part I remember (besides the scene where they sit around eating twizzlers), but it is indeed a hilarious moment

For my money, Rat Race has the worst ending in movie history. It also has Amy Smart though, which almost balances that out.

Rat Race is one of the films the Baltimore City Jury Duty waiting area plays on repeat, one of about four or five films shown alongside the reigning champion, Hitch, which is shown literally every day

Jon Lovitz is comedy gold in this movie. I can't tell you how often members of my family quote

My parents threw away the VHS of this movie because my siblings and I wouldn't stop saying we were "prairie doggin' it" any time we were all in a car together.

I was honestly about to confess my earnest desire for a good blu of Orange County before I saw your tiny text. So, seconded!

The footage of Cuba Gooding Jr. rigging the coin toss is kinda funny too in the stupidest possible way, but the film has enough awful moments where it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Orange County, on the other hand, has some solid laughs thanks almost entirely to Jack Black.
