Re: Arrow Announcements, Speculation & Wild, Irresponsible Conjecture
My guess is a third Claude Chabrol set (there are still a lot of good ones left), but my thoughts for this one:
Masks
Cry of the Owl
A Judgement in Stone
The Bridesmaid
A Girl cut in Two

These are all different licensees, and we knew Chabrol was coming because two “CC” boxes were teased. So, I doubt itRohmerfan wrote: Wed Mar 23, 2022 5:15 pm My guess is a third Claude Chabrol set (there are still a lot of good ones left), but my thoughts for this one:

True Romance 4K UHD will be getting a US release as well. Thank god I held off from getting the UK release from scalpers all this time.

That is the 3rd Sony title that Arrow has releases on UHD.yoloswegmaster wrote: Fri Mar 25, 2022 2:52 pm True Romance 4K UHD will be getting a US release as well. Thank god I held off from getting the UK release from scalpers all this time.

So rumor, via the Kung Fu Fandom board, is the "BL Box" for November is in fact a Bruce Lee set for the UK. Nothing more exciting than these films getting re-released for the dozenth time.

At least it will be a 4K UHD set. I wonder if they will also be altering the color timing on their own or just use whatever Criterion had done. However, I don't really know what else they can in terms of extras or if they will even be able to license 'Enter the Dragon' from Warner Bros (this doesn't seem likely ass I would assume WB would release it on 4K themselves).

Re: Arrow Announcements, Speculation & Wild, Irresponsible Conjecture
Fortune Star did a new HDR grade last year, so I'm not sure what Arrow is planning to do with the color.
The French UHDs, which didn't use the new HDR grade, are apparently very underwhelming.
Still I'd rather get a Blu-ray of something that has been locked up by Miramax or only been available in a crummy version instead of a UHD of something that has been done to death (especially when the something that has been done to death is a set of pretty lousy movies.)

The French UHDs were disappointing because the restorations are DNRed (mooting the upgrade), they weren't color corrected like Shout (then Criterion) did, and several of the soundtracks are awful to listen to.
The Blu-rays were already like this, so it wasn't a surprise, these 4 restorations are probably just not good enough for a UHD upgrade to look appropriately useful.

Maybe a Giallo box, akin to last year's westersn and poliziotteschi sets.

It looks as if Arrow has a deal with Warner Bros, as Fran Simeoni was hinting on Twitter that Arrow were going to be releasing 'Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny'. If they do have a deal with WB, I wonder if they will have the same access to the major WB titles that Criterion has or if they will be relegated to the lesser titles.

Somebody got a postcard of Desperado (1995) with their copy of the Henry UHD.

Awesome, that’s such an on-brand Arrow title, I’m surprised it’s taken this long for them to get to it

Croupier rumoured (source, forum on Blu-ray dotcom)
If so, any further Hodges likely? I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead, hopefully, in keeping with the noir underworld theme.

pure speculation but if they somehow tapped Tarantino to speak about the film/his cameo maybe they're gonna announce their long awaited hopefully-not-cancelled Basterds release.therewillbeblus wrote: Wed Apr 13, 2022 1:49 pm Awesome, that’s such an on-brand Arrow title, I’m surprised it’s taken this long for them to get to it
If Arrow does release it I do not care if it's blu only. I'm wondering if they were allowed to get access and present the huge deleted scenes/characters involving Maggie Cheung and Cloris Leachman.

Re: Arrow Announcements, Speculation & Wild, Irresponsible Conjecture
The press release from Ignite for their upcoming Invaders from Mars 4k (which L.A. had mentioned in the Fox Catalogue on Blu thread) says "Arrow Video will release in the UK" but it does not specify if Arrow will indeed release a UK UHD.

The Leachman scenes are present in Tarantino’s personal print that has screened at the New Beverly, and they’re only a few minutes long.black&huge wrote: Fri Apr 22, 2022 7:24 ampure speculation but if they somehow tapped Tarantino to speak about the film/his cameo maybe they're gonna announce their long awaited hopefully-not-cancelled Basterds release.therewillbeblus wrote: Wed Apr 13, 2022 1:49 pm Awesome, that’s such an on-brand Arrow title, I’m surprised it’s taken this long for them to get to it

Are you sure about that? I’ve seen this version before and can recall several differences but do not remember this one. Most of the edits I recall were quite minor, like different takes being used, extended shots, and a few moments still not in the final version like the shot of Goebbles having sex with his secretary.beamish14 wrote: Sat Apr 23, 2022 3:12 pmThe Leachman scenes are present in Tarantino’s personal print that has screened at the New Beverly, and they’re only a few minutes long.black&huge wrote: Fri Apr 22, 2022 7:24 ampure speculation but if they somehow tapped Tarantino to speak about the film/his cameo maybe they're gonna announce their long awaited hopefully-not-cancelled Basterds release.therewillbeblus wrote: Wed Apr 13, 2022 1:49 pm Awesome, that’s such an on-brand Arrow title, I’m surprised it’s taken this long for them to get to it

Re: Arrow Announcements, Speculation & Wild, Irresponsible Conjecture
A friend of mine saw it a few years ago at one of its midnight screenings and swore that Leachman was briefly there, and I think a few others on Twitter echoed that. The Cheung moments have never appeared, that I 100% know. The Elegant Dandy Fop wrote: Sat Apr 23, 2022 5:36 pmAre you sure about that?
