Starting to think the '2025 Titles Teaser' is meant to be read from left to right, as ATOS (A Tale of Sorrow and Sadness), GWS (Girl with a Suitcase), VS (Va savoir) and ROG (River of Grass) are the first 4 circles on the graphic.

I wonder then if RJ is a Radu Jude box set (we know Fran was trying to license at least one or two of his more recent titles) and PAL could well be Palindromes (somebody confirmed Radiance have that for the UK, and Criterion have US rights according to Solondz himself). Any guesses for RM or THE?

When you get down to the fifth row, DAI could be another Daiei Gothic set (or similar), and DAU is considered to be Daughters of Darkness, so what could MAL be for? I assume those will be horror titles for October/Halloween, like last year.

EDIT: Just realised THE is likely Thesis, which got a 4K release from Umbrella recently. Guessing that's one of the "A couple of serial killers" clues too...

if Radiance doesn't release it, we could very well see Arrow put out a 4K, if that's any consolation

I'm sure it's a mistake (and I wouldn't blame them for not honoring it), but Volume 4 of their Dirty Arthouse set is currently listed as £2.49 on Radiance's site.

Newsletter clue: next month, iron man

I could see the Palme D'or title being When Father Was Away on Business, Man of Iron, or Chronicle of the Years of Fire.

I know they've already done a Palme D'or winner with The Eel, but this makes a ton of sense in relation to the clue.

Has anyone seen Radiance's releases of Mississippi Mermaid or The Bride Wore Black? Just
interested to know if these are a marked improvement on previous US releases.

The improvements are in the booklets/on-disc supplements (though I'll never forget that Twilight Time issued the latter with a bonus CD of Bernard Herrmann... in interview, not of his score!), I don't think there's much of a marked difference quality wise between these and the Kino reissues otherwise as they use the same restos

It’s probably not Thesis because I believe Severin has the rights to that and will probably release it in the UK too. The Railroad Man is a good shoutout though and has been on my list for quite a while so I’d be excited to check it out in HD.

Is there a trailer of the new 4K restoration ? (Too bad no UHD is planned)

That glimpse of the new 4K restoration is tantalising. Basically you can still order the Radiance UK release from amazon.co.uk from the EU including France. They calculate the appropriate VAT for the country you are in. Likewise if you order directly from Radiance it will be the country appropriate EU VAT rate charged, rather than that levied by the UK, so the import should similarly be unimpeded subsequently.

Radiance released a trailer on their YouTube channel (here). Looks lovely but am trying not to pre-order absolutely every Radiance release so have put this on hold for now...bound to pick it up within a few months though!

As for Amazon UK listings, newly-announced Radiance titles generally don't show up for pre-order on any site other than their own until about a week after announcements, so check back next week and they should be up on Amazon, HMV, Rarewaves, Zavvi etc.

I would like to suggest that the SEN clue from the letters hints that Radiance dropped could be for Kira Muratova's The Sentimental Policeman but I'm not sure whether or not it would be off limits due to current events involving Ukraine at the moment.

A film I only recently discovered myself that I think would be a great release for Radiance is Rosaura a las 10 (Rosaura at 10 O'Clock) (1958).

Directed by Mario Soffici it is very highly regarded in it's native Argentina with an ingenious narrative unlike any film I've ever seen. Had me hooked until the very end.

The film was in competition at the 1958 Cannes Film Festival but failed to win any prizes. A hidden gem that is screaming for discovery.

Sadly slept on this, but a brand-new restoration premiered at MoMA this month, "restored in 4K by Cubic Restauration in collaboration with the Society for Audiovisual Heritage, coordinated by Fernando Madedo and supervised by Luis Alberto Scalella. Restored in the original AlexScope 2.35 format from the original 35mm negatives in the archives of Argentina Sono Film, the owner of the film."

So YES, it would absolutely make a great release, especially with a new 4K master ready to go.

I would definitely try and track down a copy of the original novel by Marco Denevi (who also wrote the novel Secret Ceremony).
There's only one edition in English (under the title Rosa at Ten O'Clock) which I believe was published in 1964. I think the film is
excellent, but the novel is certainly worth checking out.
