The neglected Warner title that I'd want most from VS is Mike's Murder, James Bridges' remarkable LA neo-noir with Debra Winger and Paul Winfield. It went through a year of post-production after disastrous test screenings, but Bridges' partner Jack Larson always said he still had the much more radical/graphic original cut. (The trailer, although under 90 seconds, is filled with material absent from the release version.) It's still a striking film, and deserves an upgrade, even if none of that material can be recovered.

I suggested this here and on the Blu-Ray forum as well. It’s a stunning look at West Los Angeles in the 80’s. The polar opposite of Bless Their Little Hearts, which shows the poorest community in the city. I truly hope that the original cut can be utilized and that Joe Jackson’s score can be restored

I was going to guess Demme on the box set: Citizen’s Band / Melvin and Howard / Who Am I This Time? / Cousin Bobby, but then I remembered Melvin had a Twilight Time release and Who Am I This Time is only barely feature length, which means my guess is more wishful thinking than anything else.

I was told that the rights to this have reverted to the Morrissey estate along with Women in Revolt and will be stored and given a new 4K restoration by MoMA and that Janus showed curiosity in obtaining the rights. I do think Vinegar Syndrome is probably a more suitable home that would probably give it more special features.

I rewatched The Rapture, after about 25-30 years, to good effect. It is an odd, but worthwhile film which explores born-again Christianity (and, I guess, religious fervour of any sort) with great seriousness and doesn’t pull its punches. Its slight exploitative elements and scuzziness work to its favour. Great full-force performance from Mimi Rogers.

Justin La Liberty said elsewhere they're open to more Demme but not for the rest of this year. Someone asked about The Assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford and he said they have no WB titles from the 2000s.
