The two players these don’t work on are extremely ubiquitous, the 820 in particular. And FWIW, I’ve played hundreds if not thousands of discs on mine and this is the first issue of any kind that I’ve encountered. I'm fairly certain they already said a couple of years ago that they were adding a Panasonic player to the set of players we use to check their discs.
