The two players these don’t work on are extremely ubiquitous, the 820 in particular. And FWIW, I’ve played hundreds if not thousands of discs on mine and this is the first issue of any kind that I’ve encountered. I’m not saying Arrow *will* repress this, but if they do, it’s probably because a whole lot of people have these players.

Didn't they say they had the 820 among their testing units? Maybe I'm misremembering.

I'm fairly certain they already said a couple of years ago that they were adding a Panasonic player to the set of players we use to check their discs.

Over at the other forum, a member reported DV plus the workaround not working on the alternate cut of Who am I? as well as the Rumble in the Bronx HK set on their Panasonic player. I think I mentioned on a previous page someone had the same issue with First Strike on their Sony X700 but that doesn't appear to have happened to anyone else yet.

they added a Panasonic 450 which uses a different chipset to the 820, if they had a 820 for testing the constant stuffups in recent times would be even more ridiculous

Unfortunate all around, what a mess.
Arrow is offering either a 10% refund for those who got the wrong edition (didn't they charge more for the exclusive anyway?) or you need to return the one you got for a refund, while simultaneously ordering the exclusive artwork version again (having no idea, of course, if they'll send you the correct one this time). Cool company, man. No idea why folks who do such a great job with restoration and features would want their disc authoring and shipping/fulfillment to be so awful, but here we are.

I don't think they ever charge more for Arrow store exclusives that just include alternative artwork, and the price right now is the same for both versions

Got it. For some reason I thought those alternate ones were a few extra bucks. That's something, at least. Maybe they should be, they could funnel that money into proper order fulfillment.

Alternative art (Original Arte or whatever) has always been priced the same at Arrow. Several of them have sold out faster though, but that's otherwise it. I suppose they consider those to have the same content (which they do !), unlike having an extra slipcover or booklet or whatever. They even are discounted the same during sales (like American Gigolo).
