My first memory of seeing anything with Henry Fonda or a glimpse of anything directed by John Ford was actually through this movie of all places. (And surprised to see it’s from 1989, no doubt overshadowed by that other movie starring Keaton later that same year.)

Was surprised to see that La Scoumoune is actually a remake of Becker’s Rocca directed by the source novel’s author Jose Giovanni, and with Belmondo playing the same role in both, about ten years apart… what other movies have been remade but retained the actor(s)?
