A small part as Lector's guard, but Frankie Faison played the same role in Manhunter and Red Dragon.

Gerard Depardieu in both the French and US remake of 'My Father the Hero'

Jean Reno and Christian Clavier in Les Visiteurs and Just Visiting (haven't seen either of these, so I don't know if they play the same characters with different names or different characters)

LaBute's Death at a Funeral was a lot of fun, if I recall correctly. Would love to see that and/or Lakeview Terrace announced when Kino runs out of other bullshit to put out.

Michael Caine isn’t the same character in both, but he notably appears in both versions of Sleuth and Get Carter

Alan Hale Sr. played Little John in both the Fairbanks and Flynn Robin Hoods (and once more in the "unofficial" sequel Rogues of Sherwood Forest). Lon Chaney and Harry Earles reprised their roles in the talkie remake of The Unholy Three, as did George and Florence Arliss in the 1929 Disraeli.

Not the same role, but Patty Duke of course played Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker and later played Anne Sullivan in a TV remake.

Brigitte Helm starred in a 1928 silent version of Alraune and then in a 1930 sound remake. She also starred in the German and French language versions of Gloria (1931) by different directors. These different language versions of films from the early days of the sound era are the most common reason why the same actors were cast in remakes, provided they spoke the language. However, as with Dracula, the cast was often swapped out entirely.

Ingrid Bergman's 1939 Hollywood debut was in a remake of her breakthrough role in the Swedish melodrama Intermezzo from 1936. However, when Bergman's A Woman's Face (1938) was remade by Hollywood in 1941, they cast Joan Crawford.

In the 1978 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Kevin McCarthy still tries to warn the world of the pod menace, and we are to understand that he is playing the same character from the 1956 movie.
