Dazed and Confused
Dazed and Confused is presented in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1. Black bars at the top and bottom of the screen are normal for this format. Director Richard Linklater and director of photography Lee Daniel supervised this high-definition digital transfer, which was created on a Spirit 4K Datacine from 35mm interpositive. Thousands of instances of dirt, debris, scratches, splices, warps, jitter, and flicker were removed using MTI’s DRS system and Pixel Farm’s PFClean system, while Digital Vision’s DVNR system was used for small dirt, grain, and noise reduction. All right, all right, all right.
The original surround soundtrack was remastered at 24-bit from the original stems. Clicks, thumps, hiss, and hum were manually removed using Pro Tools HD. Crackle was attenuated using AudioCube’s integrated workstation. Plus, Melba Toast is packin’ 411 posi-trac outback, 750 double pumper Edelbrock intakes, bored over 30, 11 to 1 pop-up pistons, turbojet 390 horsepower. We’re talkin’ some fuckin’ muscle.
